About Christine

Christine Kemp-Longmore joined the Community Justice Center in Burlington Vermont when the Offender Reentry Program was being established under the Direction of the late Senator Sally Fox in 2005.

Christine came aboard as a CEDO contracted employee of VABIR -Vermont Association of Business, Industry and Rehabilitation in 2005, A private, non-profit organization that assists Vermonters with disabilities in securing employment and training opportunities throughout the state of Vermont. CEDO is the City of Burlington’s Economic Development Office. Christine developed and currently runs the OWD program, an employment program that assists people with felony records/history of incarceration in securing training, employment and career development opportunities. Certified by the National Institute of Corrections and the Center for Credentialing and Education as an Offender Workforce Development Specialist, she secures opportunities by establishing and maintaining relationships with local businesses and is often called on by partners statewide for her expertise. This work is carried out in weekly group meetings for job seekers as well as individualized service provided upon request. The OWD program is aimed at reducing recidivism in the VT Prison System specifically in Chittenden County and surrounding communities. Christine has also worked for local organizations like; Prevent Child Abuse Vermont, Spectrum Youth and Family Services, Howard Community Services, Human Solutions, a Training and Consulting organization she founded and has recently been appointed to the Burlington Police Commission for a 3 year term.
